It might be a bad sign that I've sunk to blogging about my bullet games, but this one was too cool to pass up. Out of respect for the position, I won't present the game, just this puzzle. It's white to move and win. I think it's a pretty tough, but I expect a few of you can do it. Please answer in the comments.
1. Rxh6+ Kg8
ReplyDelete2. Qc4+ Kf8
3. Rh8+ Ke7
4. Qb4+ Ke6
5. Rxd8 Qxa6
6. Qxd2 +/-
Every time I start a chess problem billed as tactical or in any way "interesting", the first thing I do is check every way to sack the queen. Didn't help this time, but still a fun problem, especially for bullet.
ReplyDeleteDidn't see these comments till just now. Daniel's line is generally right, but 2...Qf7 is a more interesting defense than Kf8. White still has to find some good moves to win there.
ReplyDeleteYeah it took me a (long) minute to see the refutation of 2...Qf7. I think this is it:
